Who We Are
The vision of Band of Brothers is to create a community of authentic brothers who will live out of our true identity in Christ and as a result serve as a bold, humble and loving witness to our neighbors, city and world. Our goal is found in Colossians 1:28-29 "We proclaim [Christ], warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. [We] labor for this, striving with [God's] strength that works powerfully in [us]."

Why We Exist
The mission of Houston's First Men's Ministry called the Band of Brothers is the same mission as our church. It flows from the command Jesus gave his followers in Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”"

What We Do
The Band of Brothers focuses on building and equipping men in 3 areas: a Vision of Biblical Manhood, giving them the Necessary Faith Skills to live out the vision, and building a Support Network for Life because we know life is hard. To find out more about different opportunities visit our other areas under Upcoming Events, Grow, and Serve.
Grow Groups

In the struggle of life, men often find themselves isolated or alone. Scripture teaches us that it is never good to be isolated and that when we fall alone, we are in mortal danger. In the Band of Brothers we know that “a man alone is in the Danger Zone.”
We need to find Godly men that we can count on. Men who love us in sincerity and strength. Men who will tell us what we need to hear, not what we want to hear. Men who will pray and fight for our freedom. Men who believe in who God is calling us to be.
Men's Grow Groups are just that: Men intentionally gathering to connect, serve, and pursue transformation through Jesus Christ — being committed, gracious, transparent, and accountable with one another.

Men's Morning Study
We have a weekly Bible study for men. We focus on clear biblical teaching followed by real conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.
This spring we continue our study of the Gospel of Mark. In a world filled with trials and questions about faith, holding fast to the truth of Jesus is vital. Mark's Gospel offers a compelling portrait of Jesus' humility, sacrifice, and divine authority, equipping us to grow deeper in faith and live boldly in a challenging world.
Men, join us as we walk through Mark's fast-paced narrative, exploring how Jesus' servanthood and deity impact our understanding of His mission - and our own purpose as His followers. Together, we'll seek practical applications for these eternal truths in our daily lives and spiritual journeys. Each session begins with a teaching time, followed by small group discussions in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Regular attendance is encouraged but not required - come as you are and invite a friend!
Join us Thursdays, January 8 – May 7 @ 6:30-7:30a either in-person in the Garden Rm (158) at The Loop Campus OR online via Zoom!
Chick-fil-A breakfast will be available starting at 6:20a for $5.
*Men's Morning Study will NOT be meeting on Thursday, March 12.

Ignite Group Mentoring
The Men’s Ministry of Houston’s First invites men to participate in a transformative mentoring ministry called Ignite Groups! Ignite Groups are small groups of men that are in the same season of life (Summit Young Single Adults, Sojourn, engaged or Married Young Adults ) who are led by mentors from a season ahead. These groups create a confidential space for men to be real, share their stories, grow spiritually and be poured into by the mentors as they share their godly wisdom and life experiences.
Ignite Groups require a 9-month commitment. Men will meet as a group once a month, and over the course of the mentoring process will also meet 1-on-1 with the other mentees in their group. Each month the group will read and discuss a pre-selected book that covers a relevant topic, as well as review any exercises that have been assigned.
Ignite Groups will launch each January and will conclude in October. If you are interested in being a part of a 2027 Ignite Group, active church members can fill out an application beginning October 1, 2026. Applications will close midnight on November 15, 2026. Spots will be limited.

Men:Serve
From Exodus 22:22 to James 1:27, the importance of serving widows is evident. As men who are called to lead through serving, the Band of Brothers mobilizes teams of men across the city of Houston to serve the widows of our church through yard work, home repairs, and other tasks.
